(VOVworld) – Tet celebrations have been held across the world. A get-together took place in Paris on Thursday to welcome Tet, Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year.

In his address, Vice Mayor of Paris Bruno Julliard conveyed best wishes to the Vietnamese community in France. Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son said the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and France will further develop this year through various activities including the annual senior economic dialogue and a visit to Vietnam by French President Francois Hollande.

Ambassador Son expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in France will continue to serve as a key bridge for bilateral ties and contribute more to the homeland’s growth.
The same day, Vietnamese students at the Financial University of the Government of the Russian Federation organized an art and culinary festival to mark 2015 traditional lunar New Year.

Konstantin Simonov, the university’s Deputy Rector, commented on the event: “We find that we can learn new things from Vietnamese and other foreign students. At the festival, Vietnam's beautiful culture is introduced and we’re interested in participating in the festival's activities. We’ve created the best possible conditions for them to organize the event successfully.”
Second year student at the university Nguyen Phuong Thao had this to say: “Through such activities, we realize that Russian and other foreign students are interested in Vietnam’s traditional culture. We’ve prepared dishes and art performances to introduce Vietnamese traditions.”
