(VOVworld) – Trade and tourism activities are busy on the Vietnam-China border areas. At Hoang Mo border gate in Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh province, on Wednesday, about 15 containers unloaded goods, most of which were agricultural products and industrial plants.

Le Thanh Hung is in charge of Procedures for Import and Export Goods under Hoanh Mo Customs Department, Binh Lieu district said: "Export and import activities are still very busy at Hoanh Mo border gate. Export items are mainly frozen products while imported goods are products for daily use. The traders and people of the two countries are busy with trade exchange activities". 

Bac Phong Sinh Customs Department in Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province reported that so far this month, the total tax collected at this border gate had reached 300,000 USD, an increase of 147 percent compared to the same period last month.

Tourist activity remains normal with stable numbers of Chinese visitors to Mong Cai city. The Loi Lai international hotel in Mong Cai city receives nearly 200 Chinese tourists every day. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Director of Loi Lai hotel, said: "Since the beginning of this month, our hotel has received a stable number of tourists, about 100. Our customers are mainly Chinese, accounting for 70 percent of tourist numbers. We are going to expand another 100 rooms to cater to the increasing numbers of customers". 

According to the Customs Department at Lao Cai International border gate, the export-import revenue in the first 5 months of the year was estimated at 219 million USD, a 59 percent year-on-year increase.
