Trang An-Ninh Binh complex recognized as world heritage site

(VOVworld) – UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee officially recognized and included Vietnam’s Trang An complex in Ninh Binh province in the world heritage list on June 23.

Trang An consists of three conjunctional sites: the Hoa Lu ancient citadel, Trang An-Tam Coc-Binh Dong natural scenic site, and the Hoa Lu special primitive forest. The acknowledgement of the Trang An complex is based on the principles of the Convention on the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritages including cultural, aesthetical, and geological values, and the preservation of heritage. The Trang An complex has become Vietnam’s 8th cultural and natural heritage site recognized by the UNESCO.
