Vietnam- a responsible member of the world community

(VOVworld)- Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang visited the UN Headquarters in New York and met with UN leaders during his visit to the US over the past two days. During the meetings, Acting President of the UN General Assembly Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov and Assistant to the UN Secretary General for Political and Security Affairs Toyberg Frandzen praised Vietnam’s contributions to mapping out strategies and action programs for the UN.

Minister Tran Dai Quang highlighted Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multi-lateralization and diversification of foreign relations and being a responsible member of the international community.  He said Vietnam always respects relations with the UN considering it a priority of Vietnam’s foreign policy. Minister Quang said Vietnam strongly supports the UN’s central role in dealing with challenges to ensure the world’s peace and security. Vietnam has officially participated in the UN peacekeeping mission. During his visit to the US, Minister Quang visited the Vietnamese delegation at the UN, and the bureaus of the Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam TV and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center in New York.
