Vietnam becomes official member of Int’l Hydrographic Organisation

(VOVworld) - The International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) held a ceremony to raise Vietnam’s flag in Monaco on Wednesday, marking Vietnam’s official admission to the IHO as the 84th member. The event coincided with Vietnam’s 70th National Day.

Vietnam’s membership in the IHO marks a specific act of the Party and government’s policy on proactive international integration and a new stage in the development of its navy force and the hydrographic sector.

Vietnam pledges to fully adhere to the Convention on the IHO and exert every effort to responsibly contribute to ensuring maritime security and safety in the world.

It is also willing to cooperate with IHO member nations in the spirit of being a friend, trustful partner and responsible member of the international community. The IHO was established in 1970 and has the headquarters in Monaco.
