Vietnam marks 65th anniversary of National Resistance Day

The People’s Army newspaper on Monday ran an editorial on the strength of national great unity to mark the 65th anniversary of Vietnam’s Resistance Day which falls on December 19th. The article called the day an important milestone in the country’s history, reflecting patriotism and unity among Vietnamese people, adding that it’s the national great unity that has carried Vietnam’s revolution to success.

Many activities are taking place across the country to mark the anniversary. An exhibition entitled “Long Bien bridge-past and present” opens in Hanoi today, honoring the bridge most closely associated with Vietnam’s revolutionary history which has witnessed many changes in the 1000-year-old capital city.

An art performance was held in Hanoi yesterday which recalled the heroism of Vietnamese civilians and soldiers during the national resistance wars and the people’s love for president Ho Chi Minh.
