Vietnam steps up its engagement in UN activities

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese leaders will take part in major UN events this year. Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN told the Vietnam News Agency on Wednesday that this aims to show Vietnam’s commitment to greater contributions to international efforts to maintain world peace and security and address common global challenges.

Ms. Nga said Vietnam will actively contribute to the discussion on the UN post-2015 development agenda and UN peace keeping activities. It’l join UN efforts in sustainable development, human rights, and climate change. Nga said Vietnam will do its best to fulfill assigned tasks at UN forums and nominate itself to the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
