(VOVworld)- President of the An Hai Fishing Federation of Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province Nguyen Quoc Chinh said that he has been informed that another fishing vessel of a Ly Son fisherman was attacked by China. The fisherman was also robbed in the Hoang Sa sea. Duong Van Giau in An Hai commune is the captain of the fishing vessel QNg 96147-TS. So far, this was the second ship of fishermen in Ly Son district that was attacked by China in the last 3 days. Despite China’s illegal deployment of an oil rig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone, fishermen in Quang Ngai province are determined to go fishing to earn their livings and defend the national sovereignty over the sea and islands. Quang Ngai province has nearly 6,000 fishing boats with total capacity of 850,000 CV, of which 2,400 ships are for off-shore fishing in Hoang Sa and Truong Sa. Mr. Chinh said that Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes belong to Vietnam so, by all means, Vietnamese fishermen go to the sea to fish and defend the national sovereignty over the sea and islands.
