(VOVworld) – Several Vietnamese newspapers cover the 70^th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazism. The People’s daily newspaper reviewed major milestones in the battle of Stalingrad, which changed the World War II situation and led to the Nazi army’s failure.


The newspaper ran another article analyzing the Soviet Union’s victory and opportunities and challenges for Vietnam. It said Russia’s October Revolution proved that suppressed people can overthrow the ruling class and build a new society. “With bravery and lofty sacrifices, the Soviet soldiers and people could protect themselves and helped several countries in Central and Eastern Europe escape the Nazi’s holocaust and the establishment of socialist countries.”

The Soviet Union’s victory over Nazism in 1945 was a golden opportunity for the Communist Party of Vietnam to lead all Vietnamese people to liberate the nation.

In an interview with the People’s daily newspaper, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin V.Vnnukov said it was a victory of peace loving nations, including Vietnam, and democratic and progressive people worldwide. He said it’s necessary to teach the younger generation about patriotism, anti-Fascism, and not to distort history and the victory over Nazism.

The People’s Army newspaper praised the victory as the most brilliant triumph of mankind. It opened a new page in the global political arena with the formation of the United Nations and its charter - the foundation of a code of conduct on international relations.
