Mr. Nhan said that the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the National Assembly Standing Committee had received 4,500 comments and recommendations contributed by voters across Vietnam. Voters are particularly concerned about personnel preparations for the 12th National Party Congress and expect that key Party and government leaders will be morally sound and competent people. Voters also expect that the National Assembly and the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue their oversight and ask relevant agencies to handle voters’ opinions and recommendations.

Voters said Vietnam is integrating further into the global economy by joining the TPP. They said, therefore, that the government should devise policies to develop the agricultural sector and improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese farm produce. They asked the government and state agencies to address a number of issues including improving the effectiveness of key national projects on socio-economic development and investment projects using state capital and ODA, preventing corruption and waste, and making the most of free trade agreements.
