World Bank raises Vietnam’s 2015 growth forecast - ảnh 1

(VOVworld)- The World Bank on Monday issued a report reviewing Vietnam's economic performance. Sebartian Eckardt, a WB Senior Economics Expert in Vietnam, said Vietnam’s economy was recovering with a GDP growth rate in the first half of 2015 of 6.28%, the highest rate in the last 5 years. The recovery is attributed to positive achievements in the processing, manufacturing and construction industries. Total retail revenues of goods and services have also increased sharply. However, the economic recovery remains uneven. The report reviewed Vietnam’s labor market highlighting its dramatic changes over 25 years. Gabriel Demombynes, another WB Senior Economics Expert said that the job structure in Vietnam, which had previously depended on household farming, cooperatives and SOE, has now shifted to the industrial, service, non-agricultural, private and foreign sectors.
