(VOVworld) – More than 300 VOV former staff including reporters, technicians, and announcers met in HCM city on Tuesday to mark VOV’s 70^th anniversary. They recalled different periods during VOV’s 70-year history. 82-year-old Nguyen Sy An, a reporter during the resistance against US imperialists, said: “I most remember when we were on duty under heavy enemy bombadrments on the way to Nam Dinh province. The three of us rode three bicycles carrying a battery, a 10kg recorder, personal belongings, and some cooking tools. We were determined to report news and features for quick broadcast.”

VOV President Nguyen Dang Tien acknowledged the former staff’s contributions to VOV’s growth. He said that with 3,400 staff members, VOV has developed into a multimedia house operating across four media formats: radio, television print, and online. VOV now has 16 domestic and overseas bureaus.
