(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Health has deployed 500 doctors, nurses, and technicians from major national hospitals and local clinics to serve the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

Doctor Tran Thi Huyen Thanh of the Family General Hospital said: “We set up a smart emergency app called SOS@Hotel in hotels and resorts where staff can press on the app on smart phone and they will be connected to the hospital. Our medical workers will quickly locate the patient, give medical advice and send emergency staff.”

23 medical teams are arranged to stand by at hotels. At international airports and seaports, the staff of the International Heath Quarantine Center are available to check passengers’ body temperature. Disease prevention and control measures have been taken. Nguyen Tan Hai is Deputy Director of the Da Nang Health Department: “The municipal health sector has assigned the Preventive Medicine Center to ensure water supply and clean the environment to prevent diseases. During the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the Food Hygiene and Safety Sub-Department will deploy more health care staff at hotels to monitor and ensure food safety.”
