During the last meeting of the 13th NA, deputies spent 10 days electing key leaders including the National Assembly Chairperson, NA Vice Chairs, members of the NA Standing Committee, the President, and the Prime Minister, and approving the Prime Minister’s proposals on appointing 3 Deputy Prime Ministers and 18 Ministers to the cabinet.

For the first time the National Assembly Chairperson, the President, the Prime Minister, and the Justice of the People’s Supreme Court were sworn in after being elected. The leaders promised to do their best to serve the fatherland and the people, be loyal to the nation, the people, and the Constitution and absolutely respect national interests. The swearing-in ceremonies consolidated the people’s trust in the leaders reflecting each leader’s individual responsibility before the NA and the people. They created a premise for the people to monitor the leaders’ performance, and promoted the supremacy of the Constitution.
