Vietnam HR Day 2016 raises start-up workforce issue

(VOVworld) – More than 1,000 CEOs, managers, chief human resource officers, and consultants participated in the Vietnam HR Day event held recently in Hanoi.

Themed “Human resource management for start-ups”, the Vietnam HR Day event discussed the skills needed by start-up entrepreneurs, how to hire personnel, and how to terminate an employee’s work contract. Future HR  trends were also high on the agenda. Lam Minh Chanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the LMC Investment and Trade Joint Stock Company, stressed the importance of HR for start-ups: “90% of start-up entrepreneurs do not employ the concepts of HR during the early stages of business operations. They are only good at a specific field and form a small group to realize their idea of selling products. That’s why they face difficulties in recruiting capable people. This kind of entrepreneur can’t motivate their employees.”
