The exhibition has pictures, installations, and sculptures inspired by the book “Diary of a Cricket” by To Hoai, a masterpiece of Vietnamese literature which has attracted generations of readers.
Exhibition visitors can “touch” the world of their own childhood thanks to some artistic renderings of To Hoai’s literary masterpiece.
The highlight of the exhibition is a giant model of a jumping cricket, 15m-long and 4.5m-high. Each hair, each wing, and each shade of color of the cricket shows up clearly.
A dragonfly, an elephant, and a mantis inhabit other installations.
Other works by To Hoai and a first edition of his book are also on display. The creators of the exhibition are cartoon artist Truong Qua, artists Ngo Manh Lan and Thanh Chuong, and painters Ta Huy Long, Vu Xuan Hoan, and Dau Thi Ngoc Vinh.
