(VOVWORLD) - 10 outstanding Vietnamese youths, including Miss Universe Vietnam H’ Hen Nie and footballer Nguyen Quang Hai, were honored at a ceremony held in Hanoi on Tuesday.
Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh praised the honorees’ achievements and said he hopes they will continue to improve their abilities, follow President Ho Chi Minh’s example, and inspire other young people to contribute to national development.
Honoree Le Dinh Hieu, founder of an English teaching program for the deaf called “Hear us now”, said:
“My activities focus on non-profit community education. I want to help disadvantaged people, including poor students and disabled children get a good education. I believe education is the best way to improve. With proper education, even disabled people can have a chance to achieve greatness.”
Dr. Vòng Bính Long, co-author of 6 patents on Polymer-nano material used in medicine is one of Vietnamese outstanding faces. He advised young scientists to enrich their knowledge in multiple subjects because modern scientific research is interdisciplinary.
The Outstanding Vietnamese Young Faces Awards is an annual national event to honor people under 35 years of age who have excelled in various fields.
