Vietnam’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environments and the ASEAN Secretariat on Wednesday co-chaired the 12^th Meeting of the ASEAN Working Group on Water Resources Management in the city of Ha Long. The discussions focused on “Revising the ASEAN Strategic Action Plan on Water Resources Management” including designing a management system on water data, assessing the risks and impacts from extreme climatic events in ASEAN countries, classifying the river network, and raising the public’s awareness on water resources management. The meeting will also discuss the region’s wide range of water-related events, including the Singapore International Water Week, the 2012 Clean Environment Summit Singapore, and the 2^nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit. The meeting will discuss the way ahead and its operation in the future, before finishing on Friday.
