150 young Vietnamese expats attend 2019 summer camp

(VOVWORLD) - 150 young Vietnamese expats from 29 countries are attending a two-week summer camp in Vietnam starting on Wednesday, according to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.

Pham Thi Kim Hoa, head of the Committee’s cultural information department, said the campers will visit ten localities across Vietnam to pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi; visit cultural and historical relic sites in Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Ninh Thuan province; present gifts to relatives of martyrs in Ha Tinh, orphans in Quang Ngai, and needy children in Ninh Thuan; and engage in exchanges with their Vietnamese peers in several provinces.

Since 2004, the annual summer camp has been attended by 2,000 young Vietnamese expatriates from 30 countries and territories.
