Half of them will be policemen of the Bayern state and the remainder are the federal police and several neighbouring states. They are tasked to ensure safety and security for the Munich airport, where the politicians land, and the city of Munich, where consultants and employees of the head of state stay as well as the roads, railways and slopes around Elmau castle. This will be a difficult task because the castle is located on a large area surrounded by forests and meadows of the mountain. To minimize possible risks, Germany will ask the EU for immigration checks at border areas before the summit takes place.
