(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Environment Administration and the Fine Arts Association have jointly launched the second movement to create environmental posters. Professional and unprofessional painters both at home and overseas can submit their entries to the competition with focus on praising the beauty and value of the nature, and encouraging individuals and organizations to protect environment. The move also aims to call on the entire community to take action in response to climate change and condemn acts of natural and ecological destruction. Eighteen awards will be presented in November including one first prize worth more than 1,400 USD. Le Ke Son, Deputy Administrator of the agency, says ‘Environmental protection can only be successful when every citizen is fully aware of their responsibilities, tasks, and interests on the issue. Raising public awareness on environmental protection toward establishing a cultural lifestyle is not only urgent but also essential and long-term. Propaganda poster is a direct form of communication effective to people from all works of strata and make the public immediately recognize their responsibility for environmental protection’.
