(VOVworld)-Strengthening macroeconomic stability through monetary and fiscal policies and speeding up economic restructuring topped the agenda at the ongoing 2013 Autumn Economic Forum in Thua Thien-Hue province.

While Vietnam’s economy has recovered in a number of areas, the rate and quality of economic growth has improved remarkably.

Forum participants said that solutions relating to bad debts and backlogged inventories have basically proven effective but in the current weak demand, Vietnam needs long-term measures to avoid possible future instability. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, says:

We should continue to stabilize the macro-economy. This is a prerequisite for Vietnam to have an appropriate growth acting as a foundation for recovery and creating new developments for the future.”

The 2013 Autumn Economic Forum gathered domestic and foreign economists and managers to find ways to bring the economy out of the current downturn and outline policy recommendations for next year.
