(VOVworld) - A ceremony to launch the 2016 National Volunteer Awards was held on Monday by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the United Nations Volunteer Program in Hanoi.

The annual event aims to honor and encourage voluntary organizations and individuals who contribute to national development and defense. 10 organizations and 10 individuals will be honored for their achievements in and great contributions to voluntary campaigns. The awards ceremony is expected to be held on December 5, marking International Volunteering Day in Hanoi.
