2018 National Sport Festival for Athletes with Physical Disabilities begins
(VOVWORLD) - More than 1,300 atheletes will compete at this year’s National Sport Festival for Athletes with Physical Disabilities, which opened Monday in Da Nang.

The top atheletes at the festival will qualify for the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia. Le Van Cong of Ho Chi Minh City was the first Vietnamese athlete to win a gold medal at the Paralympics. He set a world record in weightlifting at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
“This is the first time I have participated at a national sport festival in a beautiful city like Da Nang", he said, "I think Da Nang’s people are wonderful, which boosts my motivation. I hope I will do well in my competition,” Cong said.
Athletes from 29 provinces and cities will compete in 9 categories: athletics, swimming, table tennis, chess, boccia, tennis, judo, badminton, and weightlifting.
