50th anniversary of Quang Da Special Zone Party Committee marked
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Saturday attended a ceremony in Da Nang city to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the Party Committee of the former Quang Da Special Zone, now Quang Nam province and Da Nang city in central Vietnam.

Mr. Phuc praised the leaders of Quang Nam province and Da Nang city for their organization of the event to honor Vietnam’s revolutionary traditions and pay gratitude to revolutionary predecessors. He urged the Quang Nam and Da Nang authorities to promote their unity and cooperation for the region’s development, especially in industry and tourism, to improve the local people’s living standards.
After its establishment in 1967, the Quang Da special zone’s Party Committee contributed significantly to the 1968 general offensive against the US and played a crucial role in the 1975 victory which led to national reunification.
