(VOVworld) -  The 7th Hue Trade Village Festival 2017 kicked off on Friday in Hue city of central Thua Thien-Hue province, drawing 327 artisans from 40 craft villages and establishments across the country.

Along with famous craft villages nationwide such as Nam Cao weaving village in Thai Binh province and My Thien pottery village in Quang Ngai province, the event also saw the participation of 34 foreign artisans from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China. In his opening speech, Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thanh said the festival aims to honour the quintessence values of traditional crafts, while fostering connections between businesses and investors, fostering socio-economic development and incorporating handicrafts with tourism as well as domestic and foreign markets.
