Activities held nationwide for children on Mid-Autumn festival

(VOVworld) – On Saturday night, a grand Mid-autumn festival was held by Ha Noi museum and Viet village’s communal house group attracting the participation of 1,000 children and their parents. The program, which included a lion dance, a lantern procession, a story telling contest, aims to teach the children about traditional cultural values and encourage their team spirit.

On the same day, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology opened 2015 Mid-Autumn festival themed “Colors of Can Tho culture”. The museum has been a popular destination for visitors every Mid-autumn festival. It offers various activities, especially folk games such as tug of war game, skipping, and making “to he”, a traditional toy.

Ho Chi Minh city’s Cultural House held a Mid-Autumn festival for local disadvantaged children. On this occasion, 30 scholarships and 500 gifts were presented to the disadvantaged children with excellent academic result. Nguyen Hoang Trung is from district 5, Ho Chi Minh city: “I am very excited to take part in the festival. I like joining lion dance and playing games”.

On Saturday night, Bac Ninh province organized a special Mid-Autumn program. The program included lantern procession, circus, prestidigitation and art performances. 80 bicycles and 80 scholarships were granted to disadvantaged children.
