Activities marking 38 years of national reunification held nationwide

(VOVworld) - A debate opened on Monday in Quang Tri province to recall the revolutionary tradition and contributions of the soldiers in the campaign to defend the Quang Tri ancient citadel in 1972. The campaign was considered one of the fiercest battles in the history of Vietnam. The event was part of activities to mark 38 years of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification.

The same day, an exchange called “Memories of soldiers” was held in Soc Trang province where youth union members and war veterans listened to stories about the lives and sentiments of those involved in the uprising to liberate Soc Trang town in 1975. The purpose of the exchange was to educate younger generations on the staunchness and heroism of their predecessors, rekindling the spirit of national pride.
