Activities take place nationwide to mark the August Revolution and National Day

(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, President Truong Tan Sang offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh relic site on the occasion of National Day. The President asked the relic site staff to do a better job of preserving precious objects related to the revolutionary activities of President Ho Chi Minh.

Fireworks were fired in Hoan Kiem Lake in celebration of National Day.

Fireworks, music, and art performances took place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Da Nang to mark the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, a student from the University of Economic and Technical Industries, said: “I am very excited to see a spectacular majestic parade and fireworks performances on National Day. I feel proud and happy to live in such a peaceful country”.

A number of special art programs were held on Wednesday to mark National Day. A program titled “Vietnam-Ho Chi Minh era” reviewed the difficult struggles of Vietnamese people for national independence and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to make a great contribution to Vietnam’s revolution.

A concert conducted by Le Phi Phi and featuring some of Vietnam’s leading artists was held in Hanoi to revive the heroic revolutionary spirit of the nation.

On Wednesday morning, the Vietnam Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism revived the celebration of National Day by ethnic people in Lai Chau province. Mr. Do Ha Long is Deputy Director of Lai Chau province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: “More than 60 artists and artisans took part in reviving the celebration of National Day by ethnic people in Lai Chau with a focus on La Hu, Mang, Si La, Ha Nhi and Mong ethnic minorities. Each ethnic group has their own unique way to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, the Party, and the government”.

Quang Tri province’s Youth Federation and TV station held a program called Revolutionary Spirit. On this occasion, the organizing board presented 180 flags to off-shore fishermen and 12 gifts to fishermen who were affected by natural disasters in 2015.
