(VOVworld) – The Vietnam General Confederation of Labors (VGCL) will launch a program at trade unions to support businesses, improve productivity, and ensure the social welfare and the rights of workers.

At a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday,  Tran Duy Phuong, Head of the VGCL’s Communications and Education Department, said the program is part of activities to mark Workers’ Month in May. The Confederation will work with businesses to offer promotion and discount opportunities for workers, review the 30 years of renovation, and launch an action month for occupational hygiene and safety. Mr. Phuong said: “We have implemented activities throughout the year to benefit trade unions, such as signing the collective labor agreement, caring for workers’ living conditions, and issuing trade unions cards for members.”
