More than 20 ambassadors, representatives of international organizations and culture researchers attended the event. It was part of a program depicting mother goddess worshipping, Catholics and Buddhism organized by the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and localities. Katherine Muller-Marin, Representative of UNESCO in Vietnam said the Mother Goddess worshipping highlights the role of the women. This belief has great traditional cultural values, showing gratitude to ancestors, predecessors and national heroes. US ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius said he was impressed by the ritual singing and Vietnamese culture.

In 2014, Vietnam sent documents to UNESCO to ask for recognition of the Mother Goddess worshipping as an intangible cultural heritage. The documents are expected to be considered by UNESCO this December.
