Arab foreign ministers support political solution to conflicts in Yemen
(VOVWORLD) - Arab foreign ministers, at the 148th session of the Arab League Council on Tuesday, reaffirmed their support for the legitimate government of Yemen, led by President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, in its effort to stabilize the country.

They issued a resolution to maintain the unity, sovereignty, and independence of Yemen and help its government restore security and stability in accordance with resolutions of the Arab League summits and the UN Security Council. The ministers agreed with the Yemeni government's approach to tackling its political crisis based on the Gulf Cooperation Council’s initiative, the outcome of the national dialogue, and the UN Security Council’s Resolution 2216.
The Arab League Council called on the international community, notably the G-18 sponsoring the political process in Yemen, to apply more pressure on the Houthi forces and make them respond positively to the mediation efforts led by UN Special Envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad.
