Artists cheer success of “The way station” at ASEAN film awards

(VOVWORLD) - The film crew of “The way station” held a celebration in Ho Chi Minh city on Tuesday for their film’s success at the ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA Awards) 2017 in Malaysia last week.

“The way station” is the directorial debut of actress Hong Anh. It is adapted from Do Phuoc Tien’s 1992 story “The Island of Aliens”. The film follows a number of people from different parts of Vietnam who gather in a little seaside village hoping to find happiness after journeys filled with confusion and uncertainty.

Nominated in8 categories, “The way station” won 3 awards: “Best Film”, “Best Actor” for Pham Hong Phuoc, and “Best Director of Photography” for Ly Thai Dung.

“The way station” will be shown at the next Cannes Film Festival in France and at a film festival in Spain marking the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Spain diplomatic ties.
