ASEAN Festival 2013 opens in Japan

(VOVworld)- The ASEAN Festival 2013 opened in Yokokama City in Japan on Saturday.  The festival showcases nearly 70 booths introducing cuisines and handicrafts of Southeast Asian countries as well as information on trade promotion. Live music, cultural performances, handicraft displays, and diplomatic representation from ASEAN member states are also featured. The festival is being organized by the ASEAN-Japan Centre to commemorate 40 years of ASEAN-Japan friendship and cooperation. Despite bad weather on the opening day, the festival attracted a large number of visitors. In its booth, Vietnam introduced its traditional cuisines. The Vietnamese embassy introduced Vietnamese fine arts products and trade promotion activities. The two-day festival is expected to attract about 80,000 visitors.
