They discussed and approved priorities in agriculture such as ASEAN+3 Policy Framework on Food, Agriculture, and Forestry, ASEAN+3 cooperation in food security, sustainable management of forests, climate change response, and plant and animal quarantine in ASEAN. 

Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Department for International Cooperation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: “The meeting will discuss a range of issues on policies relating to food and nutrition security and assistance for farmers and the poor to adapt to climate change. Policies to boost regional trade, trade between ASEAN and China, Japan, South Korea, and Russia will also be on the agenda. They will also discuss technology transfer and information cooperation among countries.”

Delegates will also prepare agenda for the next meeting in Darussalam, Brunei, in 2020.
