ASEAN-India Conference on Blue Ocean Economy: from concept to action
(VOVWORLD) - Sixty delegates including government officials, scholars, and researchers gathered in Nha Trang City, on Friday for the ASEAN-India Conference on Blue Ocean Economy.

The 2-day conference is initiated by Vietnam and part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-India dialogue relations.
Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, who is also head of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting, underscored the importance of the blue ocean economy in both regional and international development.
He reviewed marine economic cooperation activities among ASEAN members and partners and called on participants to make specific proposals towards developing a common awareness about environmental protection and a proper mechanism to facilitate sustainable growth.
Participants also discussed various issues in regards to practical evaluation, transport cooperation in tapping seaports, and green energy.
