ASEM Foreign Ministers summit appreciates Vietnam’s initiatives

(VOVworld) – The 12th Foreign Ministerial Meeting of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Luxembourg concluded on Friday. Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said the summit issued a joint statement consisting of specific measures to deepen Asia-Europe cooperation.

Mr. Son said Vietnam received support from the participants for its initiatives on managing and minimizing natural catastrophe, innovation and technology for sustainable development and self-reliance, poverty reduction, and vocational training on green grow model.
The participants appreciated Vietnam’s proposals to improve ASEM’s effort in narrowing development gaps, connectivity in the Greater Mekong sub-region, new approach and innovation in sustainable development, food security, water resources, energy, and the engagement of businesses in these fields.
The summit welcomed Vietnam’s initiative on enhancing dialogue, cooperation, and building trust for peace, security, and stability in Southeast Asia and the East Sea.
