(VOVworld) - The ASEM seminar on Strengthening Concerted Action on Water Management through the Post-2015 Agenda” closed on Thursday in Ben Tre province. It provided a platform for ASEM members to validate best practice in water management and consolidate proposals for ASEM’s Post-2015 Vision and stronger actions to achieve sustainable water for all. The Seminar is the annual fourth event under the ASEM Dialogue on Sustainable Development framework, initiated in 2011 and endorsed by the 9th ASEM Summit. This is also the second seminar that Viet Nam hosted with the co-sponsorship of Bulgaria, Hungary, Lao PDR, Romania, and Thailand.

Vietnam’s hosting of the seminar showed Vietnam’s efforts to contribute to addressing the international community’s concerns, as well as its active role as one of ASEM’s founding members.

The seminar approved a report to be submitted to the 12th ASEM Foreign Ministerial Meeting in Luxembourg this November and the 11th ASEM summit in Mongolia in 2016.
