The sea and island week from June 1-8 and the action month for the environment, to take place throughout June, are in response to World Oceans Day (June 8) and World Environment Day (June 5), An array of community-based programs and activities will be held in Bac Lieu next Friday, including mangrove forestation, inauguration of a playground for children from families relocated from protective forests, a conference on Vietnam’s marine economic development strategy, and a painting exhibition featuring environmental protection and economic development in the Mekong Delta. The launch ceremony is scheduled for June 1.
