The weekend festival, the first of its kind in Hanoi organised by the French Embassy in Vietnam, the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the People’s Committee of Hanoi, is a concluding event of celebrations for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Addressing a press conference prior to the festival, French Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary said: “We want to introduce Hanoi people an extensive and diversified cultural program. Vietnamese people can ‘visit’ France without moving there. About 30 activities will take place on outdoor stages together with 60 booths entertaining visitors with French lifestyle and culture.”

The festival is expected to attract 100,000 visitors who will be treated to performances by Vietnamese and French artists and bands. There will be a workshop on theatre, a photo exhibition, and screenings of animation movies.
