Blood donation campaign “Red Spring” begins
(VOVWORLD) - The 11th Red Spring Festival, an annual blood donation campaign held by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT), opened on Saturday in Thanh Oai district, Hanoi.

During the launch day, more than 600 blood units were collected from locals.
The same day, patients at the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics received 500 blood units and 30 gifts worth 4000 USD from the campaign organizers. Bui Ngoc Lan, director of the hospital’s Pediatric Hematologic Oncology Center, said: "The blood stored in our hospital is running out. Therefore, the blood donation campaign after lunar new year holiday is helpful for our patients."
The Red Spring Festival’s main events, which take place from Friday to Sunday at the Institute, are expected to collect at least 8000 blood units from 15000 donors.
