Brexit: British PM warns divorce bill depends on final trade deal with EU

(VOVWORLD) - British Prime Minister Theresa May hailed her Brexit negotiations breakthrough with the EU, saying it could be good news for a "smooth and orderly departure" from the union.

But she warned that the Brexit divorce bill depends on the final trade deal with the bloc. May told parliament on Monday that Britain had taken a "big step" towards achieving the mission of “taking back control of its borders, money and laws once again”.

Some Conservative MPs said they are worried about the amount of money Britain needs to pay to the EU as part of its exit, estimated between 35 and 39 billion pounds. PM May said she looks at it as a fair payment and Britain will comply all the commitments. She also said that the offer is on the table in the context of Britain and the EU agreeing a partnership for the future.
