At this meeting, Madam Doan hailed Plevneliev’s visit to Vietnam last October and Prime Minister Plamen Oresasky’s visit in April this year for strengthening bilateral ties.

Both leaders agreed to maintain regular delegation exchanges at all levels and in all fields and work closely in organizing activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2015. They said that once the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement is signed, Vietnam and Bulgaria will enjoy a more fruitful bilateral trade and investment cooperation. Education and training will be the focus of future bilateral cooperation.

The two leaders pledged continued coordination and mutual support at regional and global forums. Bulgaria promised its advocacy for closer Vietnam ties with the EU and the early conclusion of Vietnam-EU free trade agreement negotiations.

During her Bulgaria visit, Doan met with embassy staff and representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Bulgaria.
