Canada's foreign minister visits the US

(VOVworld) – Canada's Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland is making an official visit to the US on Tuesday and Wednesday. During her visit, discussions will cover a broad range of topics, including security and economic ties between Canada and the US.

On Tuesday, Freeland began by meeting with Paul Ryan - Speaker of the House of Representatives; Senator John McCain - Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee; and Senator Bob Corker - Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The Canadian Minister will attend an event hosted by the Embassy of Canada to honor the women newly elected to the United States Congress. 
On Wednesday, Freeland will meet with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to discuss bilateral economic ties.
