Ceasefire in Yemen to take effect on April 10

(VOVworld) – The UN special envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, said on Wednesday that a ceasefire will be implemented in Yemen on April 10, a week ahead of a new round of negotiation for a politic solution for a crisis in Yemen.

Ahmed said opposition parties in Yemen agreed on a deal ending hostilities in Yemen starting at 0 o’clock on April 10, creating hopes for a milestone in ending the Yemeni civil war.

The new round of peace talks in Kuwait on April 18 will discuss implementing UN resolutions, including asking the Houthies to lay down their arms and withdraw from occupied areas.
