Celebration of 50th anniversary of the Happiness Road
(VOVworld)- A meeting to mark the 50th anniversary of the Happiness Road was held in Ha Giang province on Friday.

Organized by the Central Steering Committee for Northwestern Region, it honored former volunteers’ great contributions to building the road thus paving the way between 8 provinces in the northern mountain region. They include Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Hai Duong and Nam Dinh province. Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said:“Ministries, sectors and localities need to work with domestic and foreign investment to further assistance for Ha Giang province in particular and the northern mountain region in general. We need to tap local potential to help the province to reduce poverty and strengthen socio-economic development”.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented the title “Hero of the Armed Forces” to young volunteers in these provinces and gifts to families of war martyrs.
