China, Russia to promote mutual investment

(VOVworld) - China and Russia will increase mutual investment and develop energy, high-speed rail, telecommunications, mining, housing, and infrastructure.

This was agreed by Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov at a meeting on Tuesday in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.During their talks, Zhang said the China-Russia partnership has entered a new era of development. He said the establishment of a China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee represents the consensus reached by the two presidents and prepares for the 19th regular meeting between the two.
Shuvalov expressed Russia’s willingness to extend areas of investment for Chinese investors and provide them with more favorable conditions, especially convenient financial services. Shuvalov added that increasing investment is a key to expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation. He promised that Russia will give the committee a free hand in promoting and guiding investment.
