China’s trade surplus with US hits record in August
(VOVWORLD) - China’s politically charged trade surplus with the United States widened to a record 31.05 billion USD in August, compared with 28.09 billion USD in July, customs data showed on Saturday.
Since the beginning of this month, China’s trade surplus with the US was more than 192 billion USD, compared with nearly 167 billion USD in the same period last year.
The two sides have imposed 25% tariffs on 50 billion USD of each other's goods. The Trump administration is deciding whether to extend penalties to another 200 billion USD list of Chinese imports.
