(VOVworld) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi kicked off a two-day visit to South Korea on Monday for talks with his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se about North Korea's nuclear program and the timing of the Chinese President's visit to South Korea. Wang Yi is expected to meet with South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

This was Wang Yi's first visit to South Korea since taking office last March. The visit paves the way for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit and bolsters the relationship between China and South Korea which was weakened after China declared an air defense identification zone in the East China Sea last November.
