The opening of CPC's 19th National Congress

Attendants were leaders of the party, state, and government and 2,300 delegates representing 89 million party members. At the opening ceremony, Party General Secretary and President Xi Jin Ping called on party members and all Chinese people to be consistent on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and obtain the target of a "moderately prosperous society". Xi said CPC is facing new development opportunities as well as challenges.

It will push ahead with political reform, improve the managerial capability, fight corruption, resolve sectarian issues, and strengthen the social security system for the people’s benefits. The CPC’s 19^th Congress is scheduled to conclude next Thursday.
